MY FAQ

For the curious nuggets who want to learn more about me!

I live in Singapore. Pronouns are She/Her. My MBTI is INFJ, and my star sign is libra.

DO YOU TAKE REQUESTS?

No.

I won't be offended if you ask for stuff. I get the feeling of wanting your favourite artist to draw stuff you like out of love for their art style. I feel that with some people and so I'm happy to see that you're (respectfully) asking that of me. I love being admired.

However, my interests are currently exclusive to One Piece and Hetalia. I'm open to exploring other fandoms but until that 'exploration' happens, I won't be drawing anything else. Thank you for understanding!

That said, I am interested in commissions. Use my contact form if you're curious.

WHEN DID YOU START DRAWING SERIOUSLY?

When I was roughly 16 years old. I've loved drawing since I was a child but I only started practicing seriously then.

I took digital art more seriously at 18-19. I did Hypmic fan art. You may find my old work here!

ANY ADVICE FOR THOSE STARTING OUT?

Take it easy! Draw what you like!

There's so much online art advice and 'mantras' that it feels overwhelming and clichéd. I suggest not taking any of it to heart. People can say whatever they want online, right?

Practice and study, but do those things in a way that feels fun and/or leads to a bigger goal. Art is supposed to be fun. It's for you to express yourself and do something meaningful.

If you want actual advice, it's to draw a lot. Draw whatever you like and challenge yourself to do things that complement what you like and believe in.

You'll improve over time. Don't worry.

WHAT TOOLS DO YOU USE?

I draw on ProCreate for the iPad!

I made a custom brush for the line art, which I smoothed out and added stabiliser to ProCreate's default Peppermint brush in the sketching tab! I use the default Peppermint brush to do my rough sketches.

HOW DO YOU OVERCOME ART BLOCK?

I push through it! It's not exactly 'fun', but I recommend it because you need to build trust in yourself to get through the 'ugly stage'.

You can see things through! You can create things you like! Reminding yourself of these things gives you confidence and motivation.

If your art block is based on burn-out, then I suggest doing the opposite. Indulge in another creative hobby, watch a show, or touch grass—literally do anything else that makes you happy and fulfilled. You may have a new idea by the end of it.

HOW DO YOU GET IDEAS?

I'm always horny... The question is whether I can find the right references and the best composition.

I like looking at pictures on Pinterest for inspiration and I occasionally take my photos.

I write fan fiction, so it's also fun to take inspiration from my writings. Call it 'ekphrasis' or whatever but it's fun to have a creative dialogue with myself.

WHY ONLY FAN ART?

Why not? It makes me happy, especially since I find the men attractive.

That said, I have OCs that I'm halfheartedly thinking about introducing to you. I need that final push, though. For now, let's just appreciate the fact that I'm even drawing!

WHAT ARE YOUR ART GOALS?

I'm happy with my current art style so the challenge is to draw more characters to break out of same-face syndrome.

I also want to make more merch. Notebooks, bookmarks, stickers, trading cards, art books... I'm getting dizzy thinking about it.

In the long run, I want to get enough clout to set up an online shop to make extra money! That's where my OCs come in. No need to get invested in them beyond 'wow, they're attractive'. I just don't want to get into legal trouble.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF ART?

I like writing fan fiction! My love for One Piece knows no bounds, it seems.

Other things I enjoy include watching anime, listening to K-pop, trying new recipes and (occasionally) reading.

I once had a plant collection with my dad.
